Eight New Classes for 2011
PlanetBravo is offering 16 classes this coming year, and half of them are brand-new! We will be offering new classes in all 5 of our different course tracks, so whether you're brand new to PB or a seasoned veteran, we'll have something new and exciting for you.
Here are the new additions:
Multimedia Youth Track:
- Super Hero
- Digital Magician
- Rock Legend
These classes replace our Multimedia Arts curriculum, bringing in a new thematic approach to the incredible things computers can do.
Video Game Design Track:
- Video Game Design - Spriting
Taking this class allows students to use things called Sprite Sheets found online or their own hand-drawn artwork to create all the characters used in their game.
Production Track:
- Stop Motion Animation
Last year, students of all ages were impressed and excited by our LEGO-Motion class, so this year we've designed a stop motion animation class for all ages to enjoy.
Visual Arts Track:
- 3D Animation w/ 3ds Max
- Photography
The new 3D Animation course takes a hard look at creating characters, animations, and objects that could be found in today's 3D video games. And if there's one class we've received more requests for than any other, it's Photography. It's been a long time coming, and now it's finally here.
Advanced Track:
- Android App Development
Sticking with PlanetBravo's goal of keeping up with the latest and greatest in the world of technology, we're lucky enough to have been granted early access to Google's AppInventor for Android phones.

Two New Specialty Locations
Two of our most common requests are: a) to have more options for our older, returning campers, and b) that we offer camp on Mac computers! Well, this year we've listened to those requests and are creating two specialty camp locations. At the Mac camp, we're replacing our usual Dell computers with Macs, and have designed a curriculum that takes full advantage of the artistic and graphic design capabilities those computers have. The PB Legends location is a complete reinvention of how we operate. There are no specific courses to sign up for, and no assigned tasks either. Students are free to work in whatever area they choose on however many projects they choose, all under the guidance of some of our most seasoned and expert instructors. Best of all, they are with their accellerated peers for a week of fun and learning!
Please note: PB Legends is only available to students in grades 6-9 who have attended PlanetBravo in previous years.

New Camp Features
We try to keep things fresh in every aspect of camp, and that has resulted in some big changes for this year. First off, there's things that will be noticeably absent: Friday afternoon Jeopardy and the Big Wind Blows (at director's discretion). Our fearless leader Danny has conceived a totally new and exciting end of the week activity to replace our old and stagnant Jeopardy games that will absolutely knock your socks off! And we've been searching far and wide for new games to play in the morning to keep things fresh. Games like Button Button, Circle Run, Four on a Bench, and Everybody's It will be making their debut in 2011, along with many others.
And to keep all the gamers happy, we have some new Network Games being added as well. There's a turn-by-turn tank battle game, a lemmings-style critical thinking puzzle game, a Tetris/Bejeweled combination game, and others that Leo has discovered for us that will be thrown into the games folder at camp this year.
Wow! That's a lot of new! Register HERE
